Created attachment 141616 [details] ^ screenshot of where is located the option in Krita 5. Far away. Hi, Today, while testing Krita5 I had issue with Liquify transform: super slow on a layer; mega slow on a group. It felt at first like a big regression of performances. The big slow-down comes from the new feature "Use in-stack preview in Transform Tool". A workaround to desactivate it is to go to settings > Performances > Instant preview and uncheck it. I found it thanks to Tiar on IRC. I think the two modes ("in-stack rendering" and legacy way of rendering) have both pros and cons depending the task required. Getting full WYSIWYG is great; but it has a big cost on performance so having the option to desactivate it quickly would be great. When I had the slow-down, I immediately tried alone to check if something changed in the "Tool-Option" of Transform Tool. That's why I think this is a good place to also have a toggle switch here.

Forgot to mention the bug report in the merge request: https://invent.kde.org/graphics/krita/-/merge_requests/1061
Oh, super for the "Fast", "Fast with Instant Preview", and "Accurate" list. I'll test it. I guess it is too late to backport this one to krita 5.0 branch? (because of the new strings for i18n efforts)
Yes, this is one for 5.1, I'm afraid.
Ok, it will be part of 5.0 "Known issues".
This got backported to 5.0, so I am closing this.
