SUMMARY

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I was going back and forward in the clip monitor timeline to find where to set the zone in marker. I set it, and was then doing the same to select where to set the zone out marker. I was single frame stepping some, and letting the clip play some and then setting the zone out marker. If I do this and render out sections of the clip, after 2-3 repetitions kdenline *always* crash when I set zone markers.

Note, it never happens the first time I do this on a newly loaded clip, but always when I try to grab a selection later in the clip for the 2nd or 3rd time.

Application: kdenlive (19.12.3)

Qt Version: 5.12.8
Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Operating System: Linux 5.11.0-27-generic x86_64
Windowing system: X11
Distribution: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS

Thank you for reporting. Do you have movit enabled? If so please switch of as it's in some cases not stable. If you have still the crash, please try with the official Flatpak.

Options like flatpack and snap are solutions in search of a problem in my mind, so I'd rather stay away.
Anyway. I disabled movit and has not seen the problem since. Too bad to not get GPU acceleration, but it's better to not get random crashes.

Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback. MOVIT/GPU acceleration is on the to-do list but not so easy to implement. I'll close the issue as it seems working now.
