Set chroma key's color key to the background, using the color select tool OBSERVED RESULT Background is not deleted from the first clip, it covers up the second clip entirely. EXPECTED RESULT Background colors should be removed from the first clip and the remaining parts should be overlaid on the second clip. Thanks for your report! Unfortunately I can't reproduce on Linux with the 21.08a Appimage. Can you please check if "Track compositing" is "High Quality" or "None"? To make everything work as expected you have to set it to "High Quality". Does that solve the problem?
Created attachment 141896 [details] Chroma_key.png I tested with Kdenlive 21.08.1 (720p25 and 1080p50) and with your green VHS file. The color picker (Chroma key : Basic) takes the correct color away. Can you test with the Windows daily build https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kdenlive_Stable_mingw64/ to see if it's fixed in the meantime?
