gdb kdenlive log

SUMMARY
After some time in a project, kdenlive crashes with "The Wayland connection broke. Did the Wayland compositor die?"

the only thing in ".local/share/sddm/wayland-session.log" says "error in client communication (pid 73777)"

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
i have no idea, because it happens randomly - so the following might be inaccurate
- open kdenlive
- open 2 clips (that was how it is in my project)
- put the clips on the timeline
- do something to it (like enable thumbnailing, scrubbing around, play it, try to "cut here")

OBSERVED RESULT
crashes on wayland

EXPECTED RESULT
to not crash
