System Settings => Shortcuts After I assigned shortcut to one command, I can’t assign shortcut to another. Basically I can assign only one shortcut at a time “doing things normal way”. Apply button do not work after assigning shortcut. I can assign several shortcuts at once if I switch Alt+Tab between every shortcut assignment. Apply works too. Same problem in applications. This started after upgrade to Plasma 5.22.4. Operating System: Kubuntu 21.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.11.0-31-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11
So the problem is that the Apply button in that System Settings page is grayed out after you set a new shortcut--and the problem also happens in the individual "Configure Shortcuts" pages in each app? Can you share a screen recording of the problem happening?
Apply is not grayed out. I can't press it together with other buttons. It happens really in each app on page "Configure Shortcuts". Here is link to video with the problem https://dropmefiles.com/QjZuh
Thanks for the screen recording, but now I'm even more confused, because I don't see a problem in it, and also there is no Apply button in that dialog, yet you say the Apply button is not working. Can you please clarify what problem the screen recording is showing?
We have Apply button in KDE Shortcuts Settings, but in apps we have OK. I recorded changing shortcut in Krusader. I can record KDE Shortcuts Settings, but it won't make any difference, except Apply instead OK. On 10 sec I changed shortcut. After that I try to press buttons, switch to another shortcuts, but nothing happens. I can't press any buttons. On 40 sec I press Alt+Tab and after that I can press any button. On 54 sec I press Alt+Tab again.
OK, at around 10 seconds in the video, you change the shortcut for "About Krusader" to the "D" key. Then you move the mouse over to the OK key and wiggle it around. Are you telling me that you are also trying to press a key on the keyboard and what you expect to happen doesn't happen? Which key? What do you expect to happen? In general, please try to explain complicated bugs very clearly and describe everything you're doing. We can't read your mind. :)
I am not trying. I am pressing buttons with Wacom pen and it looks like wiggling on video. What I expect to happen? I expect to save my choice and move to next shortcut, which I can't do, because I can't press any buttons. I need to change windows with Alt+Tab, for example, to make it happen. You can see changing windows on video. I wrote already what I do and what is happening. Everybody knows how to assign shortcuts and what expect while doing it. Everything worked perfectly before upgrade. I have Kubuntu 21.04 on VM without upgrade and all works as it should. Maybe it's a Wacom problem and you do not have this issue with mouse.
Thank you for clarifying that you are using a wacom pen, which is information that was not initially provided. :) I have one too and can try to reproduce the issue.
Cannot reproduce the issue with a Wacom pen either, but it could be because it's still not 100% clear what the issue actually is... Any chance you could, like, take a video of yourself with your phone so that I can see exactly what input device you're using and how you're using it?
Let's assume that this problem is specific to my system and my stupidity. If other people report it, developers will check. Maybe I really don't know how to use Wacom pen =)
OK. :) We can re-open if we get any more reports.
