Screenshot of IMAP layout that is having problems

SUMMARY
Messages cannot be deleted from the Inbox of my IMAP account(s). The "Move to Trash" button is greyed out, the "Move to Trash" and "Move Thread to Trash" context menu items are greyed out, and the keyboard shortcuts (Del and Ctrl+Del) do nothing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add an IMAP account with an Inbox and subfolders. (It may be necessary to subscribe to the Inbox, as noted under Additional Information.)
2. Select a message in the Inbox.
3. Delete the message by toolbar button, context menu, or keyboard shortcut.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens and the GUI options are greyed out.

EXPECTED RESULT
The GUI options are not greyed out and the message is moved to trash.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
    Operating System: Fedora 34
    KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
    KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0
    Qt Version: 5.15.2
    Kernel Version: 5.13.12-200.fc34.x86_64 (64-bit)
    Graphics Platform: Wayland

Note that Kontact reports itself as "Version 5.16.2 (20.12.2)". I've put 5.16.1 on this bug because 5.16.2 isn't given as an option. It also reports:
    KDE Frameworks 5.85.0
    Qt 5.15.2 (built against 5.15.2)
    The wayland windowing system

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Inbox messages identified as possible scams have a *working* "Move to Trash" button in the warning.

There is no problem deleting messages from subfolders of the Inbox. A slightly redacted screenshot of the layout is attached, in case it's of relevance.

This may be part of a general pattern of treating this folder differently to the others. Unlike the others:
* It wasn't subscribed automatically
* It doesn't have a checkbox in "Manage Local Subscriptions..."

I don't know if it's related, but there is also difficulty in moving messages from the Inbox. When first clicking on one, the "Move Message To..." options (both context menu and Message menu) are active for a moment and then are greyed out. If left for a short time, though, they become active and the message can be moved. (And I checked: no, "Move to Trash" doesn't likewise become available after a time.)
