Description retrooperdev 2021-08-23 18:22:35 UTC
SUMMARY
Launching a Steam game in fullscreen causes my distribution to log me out of my system. I am brought back to the login menu of my distro. What is odd is this only occurs on steam games, any non steam game like Minecraft runs fine in fullscreen. Many games for me on steam launch by default in fullscreen, so this is a bit frustrating, I can't play most games.
At first I thought the issue was related to KDE, so I issued a bug here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441111
Please read the previously reported bug to KDE for some more information.
I realized the issue is with latte dock.
I was told its likely caused by the configuration my distribution uses for latte-dock. Can you help me configure it to work?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch any steam game in fullscreen

OBSERVED RESULT
I get logged out of my system, I assume my x server is crashing?

EXPECTED RESULT
Steam games to run fine in fullscreen, just like the other non-steam games work in fullscreen.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Garuda Linux

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. I think you should communicate this with Garuda, in general this is the first time that such thing is reported so it could also be something with your distor/graphic driver combination
2. Try to use Latte default layout in case it is a specific applet causing this and not Latte. Right click Dock -> Layouts -> Edit Layouts... -> New -> Default and switch to that default layout
Comment 2 retrooperdev 2021-08-24 13:43:27 UTC
The default layout or any other layout doesn't seem to fix it.

Then it is something else, no idea what...

I almost totally sure that it isnt related to Latte because it hasn't been reported from any other distro.

For the time being I will leabe it open and see how it goes...
