(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kword Version: KDE 3.0.1 Severity: wishlist Installed from: Mandrake RPMs Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified Part of my job as a school psychologist is to write psychological reports on students who have been evaluated. These reports are composed of different sections e.g. Reason for Referral Background Information Discussion etc. Individual reports often contain similar sections or information that is the same regardless of the report. I would like to see autotext or expressions extended in a way that would allow for rapid document production of various types of reports. 1. The expressions or autotext menu/dialog box needs to float on top of all windows. This would allow it to always be in view. 2. The floating autotext menu/dialog box needs to stay open until I am finished inserting statements into the master document. 3. It would be helpful if the autotext menu/dialog box were divided into left and right sections. The left section would be a tree view of available major sections that when clicked on would display all available paragraphs or statements in the right section. 4. There would need to be an easy method of creating and editing new sections and paragraphs. 5. The autotext menu/dialog box should be able to load different types of reports with different sections/paragraphs. For example I could load the sections/paragraphs for a psychological report and my wife could later load sections/paragraphs for a legal brief that she has to write. Thanks for listening (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
I do have some usecases for this on the wiki, and will probably get to that, but it won't be related to autotext. So closing this bug.
