SUMMARY Extracting an archive from Dolphin's context menu opens a new Dolphin window and there's no clear way to disable this behaviour. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin and navigate to a folder containing an archive file (say, .zip). 2. Right-click the archive file and select 'Extract archive here' from the context menu. OBSERVED RESULT After the extraction, a new Dolphin window will open on the same folder as the original window. EXPECTED RESULT Either no new window should open (the observed behaviour until recently) or there should be an option to disable it. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kernel 5.13.11-1-MANJARO (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1. Happens with different archive formats. I checked .tar.bz2, .zip, .rar. 2. As stated above in "OBSERVED RESULT" a new window opens on the same folder as the original window. And although this is not the goal of this bug report, if I wanted a new window to open, it would make more sense for it to open on the folder containing the extracted files.
I also tried changing Ark's configuration flag 'Open destination folder after extraction', but it made no difference.
