Description Ladislav Zitka 2021-08-22 07:38:35 UTC
SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I have connected dual monitor setup, both 4k one via hdmi, secondary via display port 1.4a
2. Botting up computer makes both screens looking as mirror even last session before reboot wath to extend primary monitor - that is issue one, systemsetting doesn't remember last configuration.
3. I have for example shutdown only monitors over night let PC on and when coming back next day, I switch on both monitors, they are again mirrored, but this time when I try to organize their layout to extended mode, I can move them to right positions via systemsettings gui, but when click apply, its just blink and they remain both in mirrored mode. The only thing which resolves this is PC reboot.

I even tried to disconnect cables, etc. was playing bit with behavior, but nothing helps. when in state of supporting only mirroring i wasn't able to get extended view anymore.

OBSERVED RESULT
after some pc usage I cannot setup extended mode anymore without hard reboot.

EXPECTED RESULT

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Plasma 5.25 or 5.26?

If it is, please add a comment with the output of `kscreen-doctor -o` and change the status to CONFIRMED. If not, or if you can't because you no longer use this setup, you can change the status to RESOLVED WORKSFORME. Thanks a lot!
