Can you confirm if this happens under weston or another compositor?

Can you provide output of ~/.local/share/sddm/wayland-session.log after your next reboot

Can you provide output of journalctl -b -1
(i.e logs from the previous boot) after reproducing the issue
Comment 2 David Edmundson 2021-08-20 10:01:37 UTC

On X11, while I was able to boot, but a lot of things are not working.

I'm now required to enter my password for

* SMART test (org.kde.kded.smart.smartctl), which appears after logging in
* Mounting drives

In addition, my audio devices aren't detected (both built in speakers, and HDMI)

Even refreshing the repo, which happens in the background wants my password, too.

As for the other thing, you're running git master of SDDM. It had a regressed, fix is made but not merged.

Where's the error, and how can I fix it?
