Description Thiago Macieira 2021-08-18 16:34:52 UTC
SUMMARY
I have an IMAP mail server I use to back up my emails. It has a self-signed certificate. Up until this week, I hadn't been bothered by the self-signed certificate warning aside from the first time I started KMail / Akonadi with this server. But it's now bothering me every time it reconnects, which appears to be once every hour, with two connections.

This is not the same as bug 203753 because kded is running.

The certificate is valid until 2029.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add an account with a self-signed SSL certificate
2. Fetch emails from it
3. Accept the certificate Forever
4. Wait a while

OBSERVED RESULT
The dialogue telling me the certificate is self-signed and asking me if I want to trust it shows up within a finite amount of time.

EXPECTED RESULT
The dialogue does not show up again unless I reset the settings.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2 + KDE patches

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Usually this is caused after a system upgrade (using OpenSUSE Tumbleweed here), but this weekend's update did not touch anything related to SSL, Qt or KDE applications.
