SUMMARY Icons in the icon only task manager before 5.85.0 resized with the widget (vertical) size. Now they don't resize as "perfectly", they go from small to medium/ medium to big whereas before they could have intermediate sizes. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use KDE Frameworks 5.85.0 2. Create a panel with an icons-only task manager 3. Set the panels size to 100 OBSERVED RESULT Icons are too small for the panel/widget size EXPECTED RESULT Icons are resized to fit the widget much finely SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux 5.13.10-zen (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Are you using a fractional scale factor on X11, like 150% or 125%?
No, I use a 1920x1080 dual monitor setup if that matters.
Ohh, right. This was an intentional change to actually fix a bug; see https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/plasma-framework/-/commit/32bfd1ed01f0cbd48071dadf89458edbb8edfd1e. I understand that you were previously relying and enjoying the bug that cause icons to be too large. :) However this was never the design goal, and now the bug has been fixes so you are seeing the size that these icons were always supposed to be displayed at. :) Hopefully you can increase the size of your panel/dock if you want the icons to be bigger.
