SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Update to the latest version of plasma


OBSERVED RESULT

The size of the task bar icons reduced.

(Please see the attachments. The "old" picture is how it looked like before the update, the "new" one is how it looks like now. I have also attached a screenshot of all the packages I updated.)

EXPECTED RESULT

The size of the task bar icons remains the same.

Are your desktop icons smaller too? How about the icons on the application launcher (top left corner)?

Hi João,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have attached a new set of screenshots for how it looks before and after the updates (The colour of some icons look odd in the screenshots because the images are compressed, but those are not actual issues.)

As you can see the panel height is set to 100 for both.

Besides the task bar icons, it doesn't seem to that any other icon is affected. Not the icons inside the application launcher, tray icons, or desktop icons.

Let me know if you need further information or any config files (I didn't change the settings in any way though).

These changes are intentional. The size was incorrect before, and was larger than intended. Using the Plasma Wayland session would have also resulted in your icons getting smaller, because it uses a different and more correct scaling method, revealing the intended icon size all along. :0
