SUMMARY It seems like bugs on this website aren't indexed on search engines like DuckDuckGo and Google. Please enable indexing to allow users to find bugs here for their problem. Many other bug tracking systems have search engine indexing enabled as well. GitHub is one example and if bugs from here aren't transferred to there or a similar site, it would be very useful to enable the indexing. The advantages of doing so include that people can easily find out that their problem is a known bug, developers may more easily find info needed to help fix these bugs, people who would like to subscribe to progress about the bug can easily find the bug page to subscribe to and in cases where users have more info about the bug or how to solve it they can easily find the page they could contribute to. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Search for a bug very close to the bug's title or just copy and paste the bug title into a search engine 2. Try to find a result of bugs.kde.org OBSERVED RESULT Can't find any result about the bug here or in some rare cases at least not the link to the bugs.kde.org page for the bug. EXPECTED RESULT A search result for the bug in bugs.kde.org at/near the top. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Any/all ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'll allow show_bug.cgi but not any other part of Bugzilla - we've had very bad experiences with allowing indexing bots in the past.
Git commit 06ed42c62dee4c3a4314e16d45f35c21ed5ee63c by Ben Cooksley. Committed on 11/12/2021 at 17:44. Pushed by bcooksley into branch 'kde-5.0'. Allow details on bugs to be shown on search engine results (Google at least already visit us, they just won't show the results) Hopefully this doesn't cause abusive bots to cause the server to have issues.
