Description Paul Worrall 2021-08-03 11:51:17 UTC
SUMMARY
In a Wayland session, the bottom item of the drop-down lists "more>" is hidden behind the panel so can't be accessed using the mouse

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Navigate to a folder that is in a parent folder with many other folders
2. Click the ">" to open the drop-down list to navigate to a different folder

OBSERVED RESULT
If the folder you want isn't on the displayed list you can't open the next level because the "more" entry at the bottom is hidden behind the panel

EXPECTED RESULT
The "more>" item is above the panel so you can point to it with the mouse and open the next level of the list

Operating System: KDE neon 5.22

Kernel Version: 5.8.0-63-generic (64-bit)

Cannot reproduce with Plasma 5.23; it must have been fixed in KWin in git master code!
Comment 2 Paul Worrall 2021-09-03 12:15:28 UTC
@Nate: I'm still seeing this in the current KDE Neon Unstable, if it was fixed in git master as you suggest, wouldn't I have received that fix by now?
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2021-09-13 19:31:24 UTC
Yes. Though if you have Plasma 5.22, you have Neon User, not Neon unstable.
Comment 4 Paul Worrall 2021-09-14 11:49:02 UTC
Ah yes, but my PC is dual boot - User or Unstable

I can easily reproduce the bug in Unstable (fully updated) and using a 'clean' user account.

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.11.0-27-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 2 × AMD A6-6400K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD CEDAR

Can you attach a screenshot so I can be sure we're talking about the same thing?

Also there's a possibility this is the same issue as Bug 437139, which was just fixed in KWin today.

Screenshot showing the problem

I navigated to /usr/share/doc/accountsservice and then clicked on the right-most ">" in the path

That's funny, it totally works for me.

Can I ask you to try in Neon Unstable again in a day or so after installing a new KWin version that includes https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/commit/987c68f5a59cc1be94a2262649002d089c691771?
Comment 8 Nate Graham 2021-09-15 17:34:55 UTC
Actually yeah, this should definitely be fixed by the fix for Bug 437139.
