Description Julien Delquié 2021-08-01 10:20:51 UTC
SUMMARY

I want to stop a current activity using Meta+S default shortcut. Nothing happens.
But if I use activity switcher, the button to stop an activity works.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an activity and go inside it
2. Do something inside this activity
3. Try to stop it using Meta+S

OBSERVED RESULT

Activity is not stopped.

EXPECTED RESULT

Activity is stopped.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Gentoo Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.13.7-gentoo-x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Even if I change default shortcut to a custom one, nothing changes, it still does not work.

I'm sorry to create this issue very late, but actually it's been a while this thing happens (I don't remember since when…), it's not specific to a new Plasma release.
It's only now that I have time to report the issue.

I hope I can help you to find what happens.

Confirming the same on Plasma 5.23.4, KDE Neon.
All other Activity related shortcuts seem to function properly.
Comment 2 Julien Delquié 2024-03-14 20:00:07 UTC
The problem is still there with Plasma 6.

This shortcut never worked with me. Using Plasma 6. =(

I hope someone will have time and energy to investigate and solve this bug.

Not working for me either.
Comment 6 JT Hundley 2024-05-29 20:30:53 UTC
It's not working on the latest plasma on Endeavor/Arch either. Here's my bug report I made before I found this duplicate:

The "Stop Current Activity" keyboard shortcut does not do anything when pressed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set a shortcut to "Stop Current Activity" in System Settings if one isn't set already.
2. Open multiple activities.
3. Press the Stop Current Activity shortcut

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expected the current activity to be stopped.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0
Qt Version: 6.7.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It doesn't work with the default shortcut key or a custom one set. The other shortcuts to walk through activities and bring up the activity switcher work fine.
