Created attachment 140405 [details] The clip that has the transition errors. SUMMARY When opening a project, I receive a list of errors stating: "Invalid composition transitionX found on track 5 at 0" Where X == 1 to 12 STEPS TO REPRODUCE Project involved several video clips, each with 3 audio tracks. The entire project would have 2 video tracks and 5 audio tracks. I created multiple transitions between cuts of these clips. I would: (Video would start on V1, and Audio on A1, A2, A3) 1. Click Shift + R to cut the clip where I wanted a transition. 2. Shift + R to cut again some distance on (usually ~1 second). 3. Ctrl + Shift + G to ungroup the video and audio on the 1 second long segment. 4. Delete the audio on A1, A2 and A3 for the 1 second clip. 5. Move the 1 second clip to V2. 6. Move the next clip 1 second back on V1 and A1, A2, A3 (still grouped). 7. Insert a wipe/dissolve on the 1 second clip on V2 (this was extremely temperamental - sometimes I would need to revert the transition, sometimes the transition would seem to jump to a different unrelated clip, etc.). 8. I would continue with the project. 9. Audio voiceovers were added on track A4 for nearly the entirety of the video. 10. Additional audio was added on A5 for video on V2. After finishing the video, I saved. I then went to delete audio tracks A1 and A3 (this is just guide audio for my voiceovers) and save. The project would not save, and stated: "Cannot write to file H:/xyz/blah.kdenlive, scene list is corrupted." (This seems to be reproduceable) I then closed and reopened the project. I deleted A1 and A3 again, and attempted to save. This works. I then rendered the project, closed Kdenlive, and went to sleep. When I got up in the morning and attempted to open the project, I got the "Invalid composition transitionX found on track 5 at 0" errors. I've tried reproducing this with a smaller project, but I can't reproduce the "Invalid composition" errors. OBSERVED RESULT The project spits out "Invalid composition transitionX found on track 5 at 0" errors when opening. None of the clips are in the timeline. Only the transitions appear to be in the timeline. The project appears to be completely lost, though I assume the data is still in the project file - it just won't load. It would be great if there was a way to recover from the errors. EXPECTED RESULT The project should load normally, and I can continue to edit and work on it. Thanks for your report! For some reasons your project is corrupted. The transitions that are identified as invalid are indeed invalid because in and out point are both 0 for all of them i.e. the duration is 0 as well. However it is hard to reconstruct how that happened. If you faced this problem again with another project and Kdenlive >= 21.08 it would be helpful if you could give us more details about that. Otherwise I think we can't find the cause of this and prefer to close this report and hope that this has been fixed in the meanwhile (there have been some fixes for transitions recently). You can of course always reopen once you face the problem again.
Created attachment 150201 [details] Destroys project by rearranging clips on opening. I had this problem after saving with Project > CleanProject > Continue. I also tried to download some transitions but none of them downloaded successfully, so not used those. I had many smaller cuts of different clips joined, full clips were appended after auto correction on reopening. It should atleat keep the cus in place and remove the Wipe effects on trying to recover!! The transitions I had were mostly Wipe, fade in/out, and some more wipe effects that came with kdenlive. Reproduced on KdenLive 22.04.2 AppImage in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Attached project file.
Created attachment 150206 [details] Recovered file to compare for above attached file destroying project (In reply to senjacob from comment #3) > Created attachment 150201 [details] > Destroys project by rearranging clips on opening. > If It helps to identify the issue why the in/out time has -ve values, this is the last successful recovery file I got from ~/.local/share/kdenlive/.backup/ Hopefully comparing these project files might give some ideas.
