SUMMARY I can't open any window using the the Latte task manager with keyboard shortcuts OBSERVED RESULT On my Kubuntu 20.10 with Latte 0.9.98, I can't open any windows using the keyboard shortcuts. Latte 0.9.12 on my KDE Neon Testing Edition is also experiencing the same thing, but it activates the task manager on my secondary monitor with default Plasma panel. EXPECTED RESULT I should be able to open applications with keyboard shortcuts SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 21.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.11.0-25-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz Memory: 15.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
System info of my KDE Neon system: Operating System: KDE neon Testing Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.11.0-7620-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2 Latte version 0.9.12
1. Plasma systemsettings, Shortcuts are those enabled only for Latte and not Plasma? 2. Use defaultand confirm it is still valid They work just fine so it is something wrong on your system configuration
3. 0.9.12 is not maintained any more, try with latest git version to validate the issue

Very first thing I looked for.
I opened bug 440391 as well.
I just ran a test, and see what happens if I added another panel with icons-only task manager, and it worked! And I noticed that the Latte entry in shortcuts with the task manager shortcuts would disappear. When I ran latte-dock --replace, it went back, but the Plasma entry disappeared.
Another update. I did the following: 1. Add the default Plasma panel with icons-only task manager. 2. Refresh shortcuts 3. Remove task manager shortcuts 4. Remove default panels & "classic" task manager that's on my second monitor in the Plasma panel. 5. Reload Latte 6. Reload Shortcuts 7. Re-enable task manager shortcuts on Latte Still didn't work.
Just tested git master on KDE Neon Unstable. Still didn't work. Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.8.0-63-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 4400
FYI the alternate method where your keyboard shortcut will activate a "more universal" panel items doesn't work either.
I renamed the one with "plasmashell" as "Plasma", and I remapped everything to Latte Dock. It worked! However, while my KDE Neon Testing Edition desktop was able to use my preferred method of "Activating Entry" being limited to my tasks only, it doesn't work with my Kubuntu laptop (which activates my app launcher with Meta+1 instead of the first task manager entry).
I found the post about disabling unified global shortcuts, but it didn't work on my Kubuntu laptop with 0.9.98
(In reply to techxgames from comment #11) > I found the post about disabling unified global shortcuts, but it didn't > work on my Kubuntu laptop with 0.9.98 The guide is for old versions. The option is at Tasks advanced page to disable unified global based on position shortcuts.

The option is at Tasks advanced page to > disable unified global based on position shortcuts. It's not there, but I found "Activate based on position global shortcuts" in Behavior tab. I deactivated it, and it didn't work.

Never mind. I had to disable and reenable advanced options to see it. Odd.. Also my Shortcuts page now has 2 Latte Docks again. It didn't bork it like last time, but I'm now seeing 2 again on my Kubuntu laptop with Latte 0.9.98.
