Description Arnaud 2021-07-23 13:51:15 UTC
SUMMARY

When using the virtual keyboard Maliit (maliit-keyboard) selected in Input Devices -> Virtual Keyboard, it is shown even when the physical keyboard is enabled.

I have a convertible pc which disables the keyboard when it folds behind the screen, but the virtual keyboard is always enabled.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install maliit-keyboard
2. Select it in Input Devices -> Virtual Keyboard
3. Focus an input field

OBSERVED RESULT

The virtual keyboard is always shown on input, even when the physical keyboard is enabled.

EXPECTED RESULT

The virtual keyboard should only be shown if the physical keyboard is disabled.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon Unstable Edition
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Maliit version: 2.0.0-0xneon+20.04+focal+unstable+build1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The pc is an ASUS TP200S. It has a touchscreen and the screen hinge allows the keyboard to go behind the screen. While behind the screen, the keyboard is disabled.

Sorry if this is not in the right category, could not find one related to virtual keyboards.
