SUMMARY Clips with filenames containing characters outside the Unicode BMP, most commonly Emoji, cannot be imported. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Name an example video file "๐ test.<extension>" 2. Drag & drop it to the Project Bin, or right click and import it, or even import the whole folder it is in OBSERVED RESULT "Cannot open file /path/to/๐ test.<extension>" EXPECTED RESULT File being imported. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Plasma 5.22.3 KF 5.83.0 Qt 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Tested on an XFS filesystem. Other filesystems with Unicode support most likely exhibit the same issue. Workaround is to simply remove non-BMP characters from filename, but it is unreasonable to expect the average user to know about this.
Thanks for your report! I reproduced some time ago, but can't reproduce with the latest version anymore. Can you please update to the latest version https://kdenlive.org/download2 and try again?

Tried running 21.12.1 and 22.03.70-85e4072 AppImages, both failed to launch due to them not finding DBus, although it is running. Updated my system (Void Linux) to package-provided Kdenlive 21.12.0, KF 5.89.0, Qt 5.15.2, and the problem is gone. Probably fixed inbetween 21.04 and 21.12, or a bug was fixed in KF.
