SUMMARY
Adding a collection adds the albums (folders), but they appear all empty in digiKam.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start digiKam
2. Add a collection
3. See result

OBSERVED RESULT
The folders get added, but they all appear empty (no photos are showing)

EXPECTED RESULT
The folders get added, and the photos are all listed.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kernel 5.13.2-1-default (64-bit)

KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0

As I noticed, it does show videos - but only videos. No .png, no .jpg, and no .raw photos.

Please download AppImage bundle that we package, set as executable on your computer, and check if problem is reproducible...

digiKam finds all supported file types when adding a collection. However, depending on the size of the collection or type (USB, network), this can take a while until all metadata is in the database. You will see a progress bar in the lower status bar.

I see in our mailing list that digiKam from git / master should now work with the internal database. Since we start a mariadb-upgrade if different database and server versions. OpenSUSE does this automatically for the system database, you may have to do this manually for your external database under Archlinux. The new MariaDB version is a major update and has internal changes.
