Description alerikaisattera 2021-07-19 18:26:37 UTC
SUMMARY

After logging out, several Plasma session-related processes (specifically, systemd --user and its children) continue running. Attempting to login again results in a stuck login screen. If systemd --user is manually terminated, login takes place normally.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Log out of plasma session
2. Try to log in again
3. Observe stuck login screen with spinning wheel on it

OBSERVED RESULT

After logging out, it is not possible to log in

EXPECTED RESULT

Login after logout should be possible

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

KDE Plasma Version: 5.20, 5.21, possibly 5.22 but I can't check at the moment. Wasn't present in 5.19

Can you confirm which prevents logging in again?

You will also find that enabling the systemd boot in plasma suppresses this bug.
Comment 2 alerikaisattera 2021-07-23 19:02:13 UTC
Gone in 5.22
