SUMMARY
After the update to Plasma 5.22.3, widgets placed on the panel have been acting weirdly and the device notifier is no stranger to this. On multiple occasions, when I eject a device I can see that the widget appears to become blank with a crosshair-like object in the top left corner. It goes back to normal behaviour if I close it and open it again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place the widget on the panel
2. Open it
3. Eject a device

OBSERVED RESULT
The widget becomes empty.

EXPECTED RESULT
The widget shows the normal message that the device has been ejected.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: KDE neon
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0
Qt Version: 5.25.3

Does this happen if the widget lives in the system tray?

Seems like it doesn't, but I currently can't reproduce the bug any more on Plasma 5.22.4. I'll try again and will give you an update in the coming days.

I haven't been able to reproduce this for a while now, so I'm leaving this as "fixed".

What version of Plasma are you using? 5.23.something?
Comment 9 Riccardo Robecchi 2021-12-01 11:38:01 UTC
It's Plasma 5.23.3 with Frameworks 5.88.0 and Qt 5.15.3. Basically, Neon with latest updates as of this moment.
Comment 10 Nate Graham 2022-06-08 00:51:10 UTC
Can you reproduce it with 5.24 or the upcoming 5.25?

Can't reproduce it with 5.24.5, so I'm closing this as "fixed".
