Description dginovker 2021-07-19 18:01:09 UTC
I have Unity loading a project in Virtual Desktop 4. In every Virtual Desktop however, I see the "Starting Unity..." app:

Right clicking the "Starting Unity.." says it's in Virtual Desktop 4 already. Setting it to be in all desktops has no effect.

My Task Manager settings (no changes to these has an effect): https://i.imgur.com/n8rUS9a.png

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any program that will request focus in this manner (**could a commenter let me know the real name for this?**)
2. Change virtual desktops

OBSERVED RESULT
* App appears in task manager of all Virtual Desktops

EXPECTED RESULT
* App appears only in the task manager of the selected Virtual Desktop

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.12.15-arch1-1 (64-bit)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I really enjoy separating my work into virtual desktops - it's a real bubble popper!

Apologies if this is dupe/wrong section. Thank you KDE devs!

This isn't actually Plasma's startup notification; it's Unity changing its own window text. Doing this confuses the Task Manager and breaks its ability to map it to a specific desktop. So I'm afraid this is a bug in the app itself.
