Description saunders 2021-07-16 19:23:47 UTC
SUMMARY
widget will not show the proper icons for folders. eg. if I change a folder from default blue to orange it will not show on reboot or even refresh. going into properties, clicking ok fixes it (although on the latest version this doesn't always work, but it does show correct icon in the properties window).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right click on a folder, choose properties
2. Click on folder icon, change it to a different folder icon
3. On reboot this will be drawn with the default folder icon
4. Recently it will not change even after choosing OK in the properties

OBSERVED RESULT
Icon not changing.

EXPECTED RESULT
Icon should change to chosen one.

Works for me. Can you reproduce the issue by restarting plasmashell with `plasmashell --replace` in a terminal window or KRunner? If so, can you attach a screen recording that shows the issue?

This is right after a reboot.

Right click on widget > Refresh view - will not change the icons.

Right click on icon > Properties > OK - used to refresh it, now I need to do what is in this video. After every reboot it will revert back to the regular icon at the start of the video.

The "notes" icon is a symlink to a directory in the home folder so it is definitely mounted. There is a chance the "anet_a8" link was not if that helps.

Ah, I can reproduce the issue now. Indeed the icon is being displayed incorrectly after plasmashell is restarted. However the custom icon you chose is still set; something is simply not reading it right on startup.

Just a heads up it may be related to this bug as well.
