Description John van Spaandonk 2021-07-14 20:06:18 UTC
SUMMARY
I want to press meta and then use the keyboard to start the `System Information' module, but I cannot get past the first suggestion that starts with the word `system'
It seems there is a bug in the application laucher search where it does not update the best suggestion after you type a space. That is unfortunate because spaces are used in the names of system modules.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. press meta key
2. type `system information'
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
After I type `system' the first module that is selected is `System Settings'
Even though I type ` information', the System Settings module keeps selected.
Thus I have to use the down arrow key to select it.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expect the preselection to be updated if i continue typing, even though I may type a space.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The behavior of ALT-F2 is also not what I expect but different (ie, inconsistent).
Here the `System Information' module is selected, but only after I type at least three letters of the word `information'.
The behavior overall is inconsistent and also not what I expect in both cases.
Hope all this helps!

This was annoying me too, but it's been fixed in the code rewrite for Plasma 5.23!
