SUMMARY The LSP-Client doesn't seem to work. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. check the checkbox it in the plugins configuration OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens, no new configuration knob appears. When I go out of the settings and back in, the plugin-checkbox is unchecked again. There is no output on the command line during any of this. EXPECTED RESULT A configuration knob appears, as for the other plugins. I can then use the LSP-Client in Kate [which I know works well on other platforms]. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS OS: RHEL7 Other versions: as in kate-master-199-linux-centos_64-gcc.AppImage ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Thanks for your help! I really like the LSP-Client, it's an awesome feature.
Hi, I tried the most recent stable one: kate-21.04.3-393-linux-64-gcc.AppImage and master one: kate-master-380-linux-64-gcc.AppImage and both did properly load the plugin for me. Could you give these versions a try? 199 seems fairly old.
I am on RHEL7, so those images don't work for me. I got mine from: https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kate_Nightly_appimage-centos7/ This has 201 now, but it is nowhere near 380.

Hmm, works for me, too, with 201. But ok, I am not on RHEL7, perhaps the lsp client wants to have some library you don't have around. Are there any erros on the terminal visible or in any other log (like the journal)?
I have tried with -201, but the behaviour is the same. Nothing happens upon selecting the plugin and after closing and re-opening the settings, the box is unchecked again. There is no output on the command line regarding this (only kf.sonnet.core complaining about missing dictionaries). What kind of other logs are there? What is the "journal" you mention?
Hi, we made quite a lot of improvements to the LSP Client. Have you tried again, maybe it works now? If not, can you please share which LSP Server are you using.

I am currently not working on REHL7 with the AppImage anymore, but I will try to get access to the machine again to double-check.
