SUMMARY

Seems to be an issue with plasma malfunctioning in 21.04 running on a Ryzen 7 5800X CPU.

Not sure how to communicate this other than through a bug report. Further info is in this bug report to Nvidia:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Nvidia 465 driver from Ubuntu repository
2.

OBSERVED RESULT
All desktop quick launch items no longer work, some icons are presented as question marks and the default panel randomly does not appear on power up. Wine is unable to locaye some windows exe files either through the terminal or the winetricks GUI.

EXPECTED RESULT
That the 465 driver not display the issues in observed results

I have a near identical system running a Ryzen 7 3700X which does not display this issue.

Please report this issue to the NVIDIA folks, either by sending an email to linux-bugs@nvidia.com or making a post at https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-unix-graphics/linux/

It would be helpful to the NVIDIA developers if you could run nvidia-bug-report.sh and attach the resulting file in your report. Thanks!
