STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make sure the applet is set to display only when relevant
2. Set a shortcut to launch the applet
3. Try to access it when the icon is not visible

only after going to the applet and clicking on it was it possible to access it with the shortcut

Thanks for the screen recording. That's weird. Does this happen with any other system tray applets, or only the Notifications applet?

Oh also, how did you make the keyboard shortcuts show up in that black bar in your recording? That's really nice.

It only happens with me with the notifications applet. I can access the clipboard via a shortcut even though it is always hidden.

Still working as expected for me in Plasma 5.27. Can you still reproduce the issue in that Plasma version?

I don't know if a fix was applied or if it was a problem in my setup, but it is working now. Thanks!
