SUMMARY
slack-desktop package cannot connect to account. source: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/slack-desktop/

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open slack application
2. click "Sign In To Slack" which will open up a log in page on default browser
3. log in and select workspaces
4. click "open" prompting xdg-open to redirect to slack application

OBSERVED RESULT
Dialog box will appear with message "Unable to create io-slave. klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'slack'."

EXPECTED RESULT
The slack application will open, displaying the workspaces you selected, allowing you to send messages and interact with the interface.
