SUMMARY When starting up plasma desktop (having configured it to auto start up latte dock), the dock is not able to start up (at random times, not always), it remains in a "thick transparent rectangle state" that goes over other programs. This only happens in latter versions of latte and plasma. I am using the git version compiled from 'kde invent' and the latest plasma versions from Arch. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set up to auto start up latte in plasma desktop 2. Start up the desktop 3. Random times it does not start up and remains in a bad state. OBSERVED RESULT Late dock remains in a non functional thick transparent rectangle state that goes over other programs. EXPECTED RESULT Latte initializing correctly. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.22.2 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Has never occurred to me, no idea how to reproduce
1. try to use the new latte desktop file for autostart 2. try to use the default layout to make sure that this is not related to an applet.
Ok thank you very much for your attention, sir. I will try to figure out what is it that is causing this issue, if an applet or anything. The version of latte in the Arch User Repository always presents this issue, but the version of kde git master is only giving the issue at random times. I think that I am using the new latte desktop file for startup, maybe it is my layout, I will examinate it. Thank you very much for this master piece of software, it is really good.

Gotcha! I think that now I know how to reproduce the bug: If there are any plasma desktop notification to show up just at the system start up, latte wont start up. This is my latte layout with the notification that caused the bug: https://i.imgur.com/2P2JhUL.png (latte only started up because I killed it and re-launched). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set up to auto start up latte in plasma desktop 2. Start up the desktop 3. If there are any plasma notifications to show just at the start up, latte wont start up until killed and re-launched.
In such case I think that makes it a Plasma Notifications issue. Latte does not do any Notifications handling on its own, all Notifications handling comes from Notifications applet.
Alright, I understand. Maybe the issue is something else, because this morning I am having it without any notifications though :( I won't waste more of your precious time. When I know how to reproduce it 100% of the times, I'll come again and report it on the right place. Thank you so much sir.
