SUMMARY
Setting and then deleting the top Screen Edge Action makes the Application Menu (kicker) unclickable, except the Application Launcher icon (for me at the far left).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
(given there are widgets to get clicked in the Application Menu)
1. System Settings -> Workspace Behavior -> Screen Edges
2. Set top screen edge to anything 
3. Apply
----- until here, everything works as expected ------
4. Set top screen edge to "No Action"
5. Apply
6. Try to click anything (except Application Launcher Icon) in Application Menu (Kicker)

OBSERVED RESULT
System Tray, Global Menu and Calendar Widgets (all three are nested in Application Menu) are not clickable.

EXPECTED RESULT
Widgets (not only Application Launcher) should be clickable.

Latest Update solved the issue (at least for me)
