SUMMARY Previously working - stopped connecting without obvious reason. Happened 4 weeks or so ago, perhaps longer STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open PC application and click "Find devices" 2. Open Phone app and click "Pair new device" 3. Repeat both OBSERVED RESULT The PC displays "No devices found" and the phone displays "No devices" EXPECTED RESULT Mutual visibility allowing connection SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.22.1 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION kdeconnect-kde version 21.04.2-2.1 in OpenSuse Tumbleweed with all current updates, Dell XPS 13 laptop Kernel 5.12.2-1-default (64 bit) Android version 1.17.0 on Oneplus 6T with all current updates I have previously used KDE Connect extensively and without problem. Not aware that I have changed anything and now not working. Since then I have re-installed both PC operating system and phone factory reset - still not working. My wife's phone and PC have also stopped connecting and she doesn't ever mess with hers. Also tried her phone with my PC etc. I keep all the machines up to date so a change in version may be responsible. I have tried turning off firewall on PC and setting the KDE protocols up to be allowed through it. NB - 1) The previous similar error reports are old and do not apply to my recent issue I think 2) I have searched for a troubleshooting guide for connections and not found one.
Same issue here. Using openSUSE Tumbleweed. Everything worked fine before. I will add that I have another Android phone and both phones can see each other but neither can see the PC. Nor the PC can see neither phone. System Info: openSUSE Tumbleweed Plasma 5.22.1 KDE Frameworks 5.83.0 Qt Version 5.15.2 Kernel 5.12.12-1
After some further updates on Tumbleweed tonight my phone and PC can see each other. It's not perfect - the "filesystem expose" plugin on the phone has problems. I'll document those when I can understand what is happening.
Same problem here, also on openSUSE Tumbleweed (with the latest updates): Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20210628 KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.12.13-1-default (64-bit)
Delete kdeconnect config folder, and then pair the device. It works again.
Thanks to have reported this bug, I've also seen exactly the same things. There was one time a notification about not being able to open the private key and afterwards nothing was working. openSUSE Tumbleweed - 20210629 Linux 5.12.13-1-default x86_64 GNU/Linux, nvidia: 460.84 Qt: 5.15.2, KDE Frameworks: 5.83.0, Plasma: 5.22.2, kmail2 5.17.2 (21.04.2) kdeconnect 21.04.2-2.1 Deleting the ~/.config/kdeconfig folder and killing the running process help to get a new configuration and start again pairing everything. The root cause is still unknown it happenned around 20210625
(In reply to Bruno Friedmann from comment #5) > Deleting the ~/.config/kdeconfig folder and killing the running process help > to get a new configuration and start again pairing everything. I can confirm that this workaround works. Also, the first time the bug happened, I too got an error message (I don’t remember the wording, but it might have been related to QCA – and I thought it was just a temporary packaging problem in my distro).
Yeah, I deleted the KDE Connect config folder, and is working again.
Did you open up the correct firewall port? It doesn't happen automatically on openSUSE-based distros. See https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1175627
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #8) > Did you open up the correct firewall port? It doesn't happen automatically > on openSUSE-based distros. See > https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1175627 I don’t know what the OP did, but I *had* the relevant firewall ports opened, so at least for me, this bug was not related to firewall settings.
It is related to a change in qca and so how the device password was encoded. That's why starting from scratch resolve the trouble. But the software should never ask to reset at that point its configuration.
