SUMMARY
black screen before login with the new kernel, 5.8.0-55-generic

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. boot the pc and use the latest kernel 5.8.0-55-generic
2. the boot process ends with a black screen
3. with older kernels all ok

OBSERVED RESULT
black screen before login

EXPECTED RESULT
the login screen

obviously the kernel I use now is the the bugged one, but 5.4.0-74-generic

I add this screen: in recovery mode the boot process stopped at this point

Unfortunately, the recent kernel update doesn't fix the bug.

what about? I guess is a nvidia card (drivers) problem. But what should I do to fix it?

solved upgrading nvidia modules
