STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open systemsettings (happens more often with maximized window) and hover over sidebar 2. or open colors settings and hover over color previews OBSERVED RESULT flickering content/fonts EXPECTED RESULT no flickering content/fonts SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.12.11-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i3-10100 CPU @ 3.60GHz Memory: 7,7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series ADDITIONAL INFORMATION this issue also affects plasmashell, system monitor and elisa and probably isn't an issue with systemsettings itself, I'm not sure where else to report this however this also happens with sway, and with compositing disabled this doesn't happen when using an intel uhd630 igpu this also doesn't happen on a kde neon live image (unstable dev version)

Please don't link social media. Partly because I hate Reddit, partly because links can expire so if there is anything valuable it's best to copy paste it. Everything right now is pointing to this being downstream, please ensure your Mesa is up to date. Ideally upgrade/downgrade and see if that makes a difference. If upgrading doesn't fix it, we can gather some info for them. Can you confirm if "kcmshell5 qtquicksetings" setting the renderloop to basic fixes it? If possible can you also install apitrace and perform "apitrace trace systemsettings5" it should generate a .trace file, which we'll be able to do some tests on later.

bug still happens with renderloop set to basic and my mesa version is up to date (mesa-21.1.2-1). Apitrace also created a trace file for plasma shell, so I've attached both of them.
