SUMMARY When pressing a shortcut to open the activity selector (i.e Meta+Q) nothing happens. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set a shortcut/Review the shortcut set for opening the activity selector 2. Press that shortcut OBSERVED RESULT The activity selector doesn't open EXPECTED RESULT The activity selector should have opened SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Opening the activity selector by binding it to a screen edge works as a workaround, but it's not ideal.
Does this bug reproduce if you restart the machine and then immediately press Meta+Q? If that makes it work, does it break again if you restart plasma with `plasmashell --replace`?
Duplicate of 437485 ?

I also tried with `plasmashell --replace` but it also doesn't work

I can confirm this bug. It happens randomly either on X11 or Wayland. It very often stops working after some time the session is running. Sometimes meta+Q doesn't work at all.
I was able to reproduce it on two machines by doing the following. 1. Make sure "System settings" is not open when you restart (for example, because of session restore) 2. If you can still open the activity switcher, no need to do anything. If you cannot open the activity switcher, restart or run kquitapp5 plasmashell kstartapp5 plasmashell until you can open the activity switcher again 3. Start system settings (this will not work if system settings opens a specific page. for instance, opening it by pressing the settings button in the activity switcher itself will not break the Meta+Q shortcut) 4. Observe you can no longer open the activity switcher with Meta+Q, and it instead types a "q" into the search box at the top left. Seems like something is wrong with system settings
Cannot reproduce on either X11 or Wayland.
This was fixed a long time ago.
