SUMMARY In Dolphin, the File > Create New > Folder menu item, the corresponding context menu item and the F10 shortcut do not all apply to a selected subfolder inside the current folder, i. e. the new folder is created in different locations depending on how you invoke the command. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open any folder that has a subfolder in Dolphin and select (highlight) a subfolder. 2. Invoke the context menu on the selected subfolder, select Create New > Folder from the context menu, enter a name for the new folder and click OK. 3. Now, with the same subfolder selected/highlighted as in step 2, select Create New > Folder from the File menu, enter a name for the new folder and click OK. 4. Now, with the same subfolder selected/highlighted as in step 2 and 3, hit F10, enter a name for the new folder and click OK. OBSERVED RESULT In step 2 the new folder is created inside the selected/highlighted subfolder. In steps 3 and 4 the new folder is created in the current folder, i. e. the selected/highlighted subfolder is ignored. EXPECTED RESULT The location for the new folder should be the same regardless of the method used, i. e. any selected/highlighted subfolder of the current folder should be used as the parent folder for the new folder. If no folder inside the current folder is selected, the new folder should be created inside the current folder.
