Description Jeffrey Bouter 2021-06-08 21:19:49 UTC
SUMMARY

When using Wayland, there's no option to set a "primary display" on plasma 5.22.0 (I'm not sure if there was on previous releases). So when you move your panels to an external monitor, and then later on disconnect your laptop, your panels disappear.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use wayland session
2. Move panels to external display
3. Disconnect display (to resume working on laptop)

OBSERVED RESULT

Panels disappear

EXPECTED RESULT

Panels to be moved (back) to laptop display

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I suspect this is caused by lacking the option of having a "primary display" under wayland in display settings, but I'm not entirely sure.
