To enable it back again I have to disable and enable it by clicking twice on the status icon. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable Night Color in System Settings 2. Run nvidia-settings OBSERVED RESULT Night Color is becomes inactive EXPECTED RESULT Night Color keeps active SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon 5.21 User Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Nvidia Driver Version: 460.80 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Laptop with Nvidia Optimus, with external screen connected using DisplayPort
Nvidia-settings contains it's own colour correction. It will fight with anything active. There is not much we can do
Why this doesn't happen with the internal laptop screen then?
There is inconsistency between behaviour on laptop's internal screen and external screen: - On internal screen the Night Color stays active - On external screen the Night Color becomes inactive Moreover, the Night Color status icon in the tray doesn't change the state when the Night Color becomes inactive. This can be misleading.
