SUMMARY Tags are not working properly, especially for splits which makes them unusable for reporting and analyzing of transactions. Using 5.0.5 -Split transactions are NOT listed in the Tags section (Tags > Your tags). Therefore the balance is WRONG (misses some amounts). -General search lists the same transactions as listed under Tags section. Therefore the balance is WRONG (misses some amounts). -Split transactions are NOT listed in the reports. Therefore the balance is WRONG (misses some amounts). Tried with 5.1.1-c85ec31 (latest AppImage as of 2021-05-28) -Split transactions are listed in the Tags section (Tags > Your tags) but are shown in the column Deposit which makes the "Balance" wrong. -General search lists all transactions MINUS split ones. -Split transactions are NOT listed in the reports. Therefore the balance is WRONG (misses some amounts). Using 5.0.8 I can confirm this behavior and I do not know how to avoid this. As a temporary work around I add two transactions each with the corresponding amount and tag. But I would prefer using split transactions... Thank you for reporting this!
Hallo Philipp I do the same. I enter each splits as a separate entry in the ledger to be able to assign tags otherwise they wont show up anywhere. Tags are insanely useful. We need to make this work.
Not sure if this will help, but I just discovered that some random transactions (NOT SPLITS!!!) that are tagged are not appearing in some reports. In this case, one transaction entered on my credit card had a single tag but somehow was excluded from a report even the tag was ticked in the report options. At this point, I'd recommend other users to avoid tags completely when using KMM, and the devs to remove tagging completely from KMM until stable to use. Right now its too unpredictable and unstable, and will inevitably result in misreporting and data interpretation errors or worst, loss of data.

Unfortunately, this has been my experience too. I would love to use the tags feature, but it just isn't reliable.
Adding see also but not marking as duplicate and the other is mainly about reports, and this has additional issues.
