SUMMARY In a former KDE version (that came with kubuntu 20.10) it was possible to have the following click actions on a grouped task button in the task bar: * normal left click: open the window list * ctrl + left click: open the present window effect with the windows of this group. Unfortunately this is not possible anymore. You can only configure the normal left click to open the window list or you show the present windows effect, but you cannot have both anymore. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open e.g. 3 konsole windows 2. configure the task manager to group windows of the same application 3. click and ctrl click on this group. OBSERVED RESULT ctrl click does the same as a normal click. It triggers the functionality that is configured for the normal click in the settings. EXPECTED RESULT click and ctrl click should do configurable separately in the task manager settings. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 21.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.11.0-17-generic OS Type: 64-bit Graphics Platform: X11
This was intentional; the former ctrl+click behavior was found to have been implemented pseudo-randomly to emulate the behavior of something else that no longer exists. We could maybe bring it back as a deliberate configurable option. But there's little reason to bring back a random hidden undocumented behavior.
