(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package:           kmail
Version:           1.4.5 (using KDE 3.0.5 (CVS HEAD >= 20020427))
Severity:          wishlist
Installed from:    yes
Compiler: gcc version 3.1 20020423 (prerelease)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.4.18
OS/Compiler notes:

Hello
Would be possible to provide separate variables for time and date in KMail->Settings->Configure=>Composer->Phrases?
What I mean is that now there is only %D which shows the date & time in a format which is chosen in Kcontrol->Personalization-->C&L but ex. I would like to have sth different than what is defined there to make a cooler Reply phase and I need separate date & time vars.

This would be a very nice feature I'm missing since I moved from sylpheed-claws. s-c does it like this: %D{%d.%m.%Y %R %z}.
So inside the %D{} you can specify date(1)-like format strings.

Of course I'd be just as happy if the variables from Appearance -> Message List -> Date Display could be used in a way like that!

KMail now has templates, which solves this problem.
