Description iain 2021-05-22 00:11:52 UTC
I share photos with different groups of people, and for one I'm fine to have metadata stored with the names of people in the photos, but for others I can't store that data in the image file. At the same time I'd like to be able to make the tags in my own database so I can search for people. I can only have one metadata setting for all collections, but I would like to be able to have different settings for each collection I add so that I can manage this better. I could do this with XMP sidecars, but again, would have to have them stored in both collections, when I'd like to actually have the metadata in the file for one of the collections.

It would be possible to do this with different configuration files, but this requires the command line option --config, and means I can only see one set of files at once.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set up two collections, turn on storing of face tags in metadata
2. Tag a photo in each collection with a face

OBSERVED RESULT
The face tag is stored in both files.

EXPECTED RESULT
The face tag is only stored in the file in a collection where storing face tags is turned on.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10
