Description Ken Arromdee 2021-05-21 10:45:26 UTC
SUMMARY
Adding a directory containing over 199 files adds x-199 files

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a data project
2. "Add to Project" a folder containing 217 files

OBSERVED RESULT
18 files are added. No error is produced.

EXPECTED RESULT
217 files should be added. The number seems to be x-199--if I add three extra dummy files, so it contains 220 files, 21 files are now added. I tried it on another directory and the same thing happened, also adding x-199 files.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Mageia Linux 8.0. K3b version 20.12.0 (which is not listed above under Version:)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
No existing bug matches this but I did find a similar bug mentioned elsewhere at https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/630966/k3b-only-imports-part-of-data

The workaround is to select all the files and add them, rather than trying to add the folder.

This is a serious bug because it can silently cause data loss.

Thanks pointing this.
Reported malfunctioning version = 20.12.0
Current latest available release version = 21.04.1

As Mageia is a fixed release, we are investigating to migrate some packages to latest release. But, is there an interesting commit for k3b to solve the main issue of this report? I could then argue to upgrade all KFramework/Plasma/KDE Gear stuff for Mageia 8.
