Finally I found the culprit: a link to my Home on desktop. 1. open Dolphin 2. drag Home from Places panel and drop it on desktop 3. choose 'Link here' from the context menu 4. go to Home in Dolphin 5. set details view mode to display size of contents in Dolphin settings 6. set details view mode 7. observe the size of contents on Desktop in Size column and Properties window
Dolphin takes into account the contents of the location a link points to when calculating the size of the contents of folders. I added a link to another partition to my Home and now Dolphin says the size of contents in my Home is 552 GiB. lol I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but it looks confusing to me.
Thanks, can confirm.
Cannot reproduce with Dolphin 23.04. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 Graphics Platform: Wayland
