Can you check what is shown against the "Symbol" item in the font list on the "Fonts" tab the window that can be invoked by the "File -> Properties" menu item?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

P.S. Those symbols look good here with URW font substitution.

Hi Yuri,

Symbol file is "symbol.ttf"

So it might be that the font is in its place...

I see, thanks. I'm not sure where the .fonts folder came from frankly.

I deleted it and all of the symbols look to be correct now (using the URW default).

Thank you for your time Yuri.

Turns out my system was referencing an alternative fonts folder that included a .ttf symbol file. Once deleted Okular referenced the URW symbol file and all is well.
