Description Bernie Innocenti 2021-05-16 18:38:19 UTC
SUMMARY

This happens to me while trying to connect to tether to an Android 11 phone using the default WPA3 authentication.

NOTE: this works fine from nmtui.
NOTE2: also works from nm-applet *after* the connection has been configured via nmtui

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure a wifi AP to WPA3 authentication (default for Android 11 tethering)
2. Go to nm-applet and select the AP
3. Type in the password

OBSERVED RESULT
A popup notification appears:

  Failed to add connection
802-11-wireless-security.key-mgmt: Access point does not support PSK but setting requires it

EXPECTED RESULT
The passphrase should be used to connect to the wifi AP.
