I cannot make the window smaller from what I captured in the file. And I guess at least the middle part can be half of its current since it's basically half emtpy.

Yes, you can make it smaller by hiding the scratchpad window. Use the arrow button We won't be spending time making the editor part itself smaller.

Actually it's far more bigger than what we have in 4.x and before though. It doesn't have to be fixed right now for sure... but I think it should be addressed in any way at some point.
