SUMMARY

First of all, amazing work with this beta. No issues so far. This is just a minor usability issue that I think it could be improved.

Right now to sync SDDM settings we have to click on "Synchronize settings..." button and then on "Synchronize". I saw two problemas here.

First, there is no mention of reset settings in the first button. Maybe it would be better to call first button "Sync & reset..."?

Second, I would expect the second window to close after clicking on "Syncrhonize" or "Reset" buttons. Don't you think?

Closing after completing is Bug 436137; let's use this for tracking the issue of not mentioning the reset functionality.

I'm not sure this is really a problem because if you ever want to reset your settings, it means that you manually synced them at least once, which means you saw the window with the "Reset" button in it. Changing the button text to "Sync and Reset" seems kinda cumbersome and awkward to me. Dunno if there's anything to do here, sorry. :)

Do you remember all items in all menus you have used in the past? I don't think the average user does. For me it's more weird to have Synchronize settings -> Synchronize, than a single Synchronize button. What about "SDDM Settings" for the first button? And inside Synchronize and Reset?

No, but the average user doesn't use this feature. It's buried deep in System Settings, so we assume that the only people who use it are experts who remember this kind of thing. :) The way to make this friendlier for average users would actually be to do the synchronization automatically when there is a single user account on the machine.

What is more likely to happen is that both the syncing feature and also the Advanced settings will be moved to another KCM, where there will probably be room to put them all on the same page. Then the appearance-related parts of the current KCM can be moved into the Appearance section.

I guess you are right ;) Nothing else to add.

As I said, this beta looks so good and stable, that I only found very minor things to report.
